Expats looking for a new challenge, know that Eindhoven is a major destination for highly skilled internationals.
It is expected that in three years, one third of the population in Eindhoven will be foreign – students, seasonal workers and expats.
E J J I was approached to create an audio identity for a series of guided city tours to help welcome the new habitants.
Guided city tour audio identity
When developing an audio identity, we start with researching the desired effect first. What are we communicating and who are we talking to: the target audience.
Focussing on new expats working for tech-companies, we came up with a strategy that would appeal to young professionals from around the world who've made an important step in both their professional, as well as their personal lives.
We wanted to communicate a welcoming feeling. An active but comfortable energy. Triggering a curious mindset in a style that is internationally recognisable.
We made an audio identity based on this approach, and extracted a series of gentle reminder-sounds from it's core.
The overall experience is modern and pleasing. It feels welcoming and uplifting and celebrates being out-and-about in this surprising city.
