Renault’s vision for the future is that mobility will be electric, shared and autonomous.
In line with our work for the Dutch Design Week, E J J I was approached to develop a subtle audio experience for their main sponsor Renault‘s space & media room.
Developing the sound
When developing an audio experience that enhances an event-space, it's important to have a clear vision of what the desired effect will be. In this case, we had two areas to work with: a large hall where the concept cars were being presented, and a large conference room.
Usually in a situation like this, sound can work really well as a backdrop, and add to the sensation of everything that goes on. On the other hand it can irritate if it's too demanding, and in-your-face.
Our objective was to embrace people in a calm and futuristic way, and to add an extra layer to the experience.
We used techniques like binaural-audio, subsonic frequencies, and like with elements of the DDW 2019 Opening Event, the sounds were to be experienced more than to be heard...
We developed a sound-experience that is in line with Renault's vision that the future of mobility will be electric, shared and autonomous.
The overall audio-experience was subliminal. — There was something futuristic about the presentation and the environment. We are glad we could add our share.
